"Education means emancipation. It means light and liberty. It means the uplifting of the soul of man into the glorious light of truth, the light by which men can only be made free."
Frederick Douglass
Our Mission
At BlacklistEDU, our mission is to empower students and communities by fostering an inclusive understanding of Black history, culture, and contributions. We aim to provide accessible, accurate, and engaging educational resources that highlight the resilience, creativity, and achievements of Black individuals throughout history and into the present. By breaking barriers to learning and creating spaces for meaningful dialogue, we inspire critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a commitment to building a more equitable and informed future.
Meet the Founders
-
Nachbi Pierre
Nachbi is a first-year at Stanford University studying Symbolic Systems and Bioengineering with a focus on neurotecnology and education equity. Born and raised in South Florida, Nachbi co-founded BlacklistEDU in response to restrictive policies that limit the teaching of Black history in schools—policies that erased stories he was just beginning to uncover for himself. Through BlacklistEDU, he strives to make cultural education more accessible, equipping young people with the tools to reclaim and tell their own stories.

Hannah Dorval
Hannah is a first-year at Washington University in St. Louis studying International Relations and Media Studies. Passionate about storytelling as a tool for justice, she is driven by a commitment to amplify voices and histories that are too often left unheard— especially within educational spaces. Hannah co-founded BlacklistEDU to challenge the erasure of marginalized narratives and to advocate for an education that reflects the full complexity of the world we live in. Through BlacklistEDU, she hopes to tell stories that cut through silence.
